It makes sense that only one college newspaper should be able to rightfully claim the title “America’s Oldest Student Newspaper.” However, this is not the case. At least 8 college newspapers declare this title and publically display it online, often on the header of their homepages or in their Twitter profiles.  This title is usually based upon three criterion: coming first, being around the longest, or staying the same throughout their entire run. Although we may never truly know which one is in fact the oldest, we know that these 8 papers must be doing something right, because they have been around in some capacity for over 200 years.
